The UK coronavirus vaccination programme at Oaklands House Nursing Home

We are working with the Government’s UK vaccination programme to ensure the safety of residents and staff. We are pleased to announce that several of our homes have already started to receive emails from the vaccination hubs regarding appointments for our staff to be vaccinated.

We are fully supporting our staff to ensure they are vaccinated. Our Care Home Managers are taking proactive steps to be fully prepared for the vaccinations and avoid any potential delays.

We aim to work closely with our family members as we jointly promote the vaccine to all our residents in our hope they will all agree to being vaccinated.

Our nurses now have the skills to vaccinate all residents as the vaccination becomes available to us.

Protecting residents, staff and visitors against Coronavirus

We have adopted a whole-home testing approach to reduce resident self-isolation on admission.

We have also implemented the following robust infection control measures to prevent the risk of transmission:

Temperature checking of staff before coming on duty and all essential visitors to the home

Regular Testing of Staff and Residents

Enhanced cleaning

All staff and residents at Oaklands House Nursing Home have access to personal protective equipment. Our in-house procurement team also has access to further PPE supplies if required.

Installation of Aura Air air purification units – clinically proven to destroy coronavirus and providing safer air for care homes.
